Through my wanderings I've met a lot of 'decent people' who had come to these lands for the promised "Eldorado". They're peasants, simple folks from the backwoods, prospectors, landless would-be farmers and land appropriators; adventurers, fishermen and manual laborers of all kinds.

Every workday earns woodmen, lumberjacks, drivers, helpers, whoever goes into the woods to scrape along, something around R$10 (10 reais or US$ 6.00).
