Settlers cross a destroyed bridge on the Transamazonian Road, in the state of Para. In a delirium of grandeur, the military government of the 1970s decided to have this road cut the whole jungle and thousands of settlers established by its sides. The Transamazonian today is a muddy and semi-abandoned track. Those were the times of the motto "To integrate so as not to relinquish".
