Determining the future of the rain forests is a difficult issue, to which our scientists will only contribute partially. The purpose of this section of the report card is to aid in the understanding of possible scenarios for the the rain forests in the future.
The fate of the rain forests will be determined by the citizens of the world. Global, regional, and local economics, political policies, and human needs, along with countless other factors, contribute to current deforestation. Addressing these issues is paramount in efforts to conserve tropical rain forests.
As this section expands, we will provide information on what the current causes of deforestation are and how they need to be modified in order to control deforestation.
